Curtailment, Curtailment update

Mandatory utility curtailment at our Nebraska hosting site on July 25, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM CST. All hosted machines will be temporarily offline and will resume automatically.

Mandatory Utility Curtailment Notice

We would like to inform all hosted mining clients of a mandatory utility curtailment scheduled at our Nebraska hosting site on July 25, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM CST. During this period, all hosted machines at the site will be temporarily taken offline in compliance with the utility’s curtailment request.

Mining will resume automatically once the curtailment period ends. No action is required on your part.

If the curtailment is extended beyond 01:00 PM CST, we will notify you promptly through email and this page will be updated.

What Is a Utility Curtailment?

A utility curtailment is a request from the regional power grid operator or local utility for large electricity consumers to temporarily reduce their load during periods of peak demand. These events are part of demand-response programs that help maintain grid stability, particularly during extreme weather or when generation capacity is tight.

Curtailment participation is a standard part of operating large-scale computing and mining facilities. Many hosting agreements include curtailment provisions because they benefit both the grid and the operation.

How This Benefits Our Clients

Participating in demand-response and curtailment programs provides tangible advantages for hosted mining operations:

  • Reduced electricity rates. Utilities offer lower base rates to customers who agree to participate in curtailment events, directly lowering operating costs for your miners.
  • Grid reliability. By cooperating with curtailment requests, we maintain a strong relationship with our utility provider, ensuring continued access to competitive power rates and reliable service.
  • Regulatory compliance. Voluntary participation in demand-response programs demonstrates responsible energy use, which supports favorable regulatory treatment for the mining industry as a whole.

What to Expect

  • Downtime window: July 25, 2026, 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM CST (approximately 1 hour).
  • Affected equipment: All hosted machines at the Nebraska site.
  • Automatic restart: Machines will power back on and resume mining automatically when the curtailment period ends.
  • Hashrate impact: You may see a temporary dip in reported hashrate during the curtailment window on your pool dashboard. This is expected and will recover fully after restart.
