At Rax Mining, our goal is simple: keep your machines online, profitable, and protected over the long term.
To do that, we need clear policies around late payments, storage, and other non-standard situations.
This page summarizes how fees and penalties work in practice.
If there is ever a conflict, your signed Hosting Agreement will always control.
Billing cycle: Invoices are issued on a recurring basis as outlined in your Hosting Agreement.
Due date: Each invoice shows a clear “Due Date” and accepted payment methods.
What you’re billed for:
Power usage (kWh) based on metering at the plug
Hosting / infrastructure fees
Any additional agreed services (repairs, logistics, upgrades, etc.)
You only pay for the energy your miners actually consume, but you are still responsible for any applicable fees described below.
If a payment is not received by the due date stated on your invoice:
Grace period: A short grace period may apply, as described in your Hosting Agreement.
Late fee: After the grace period, a late fee may be added to your account balance (for example, a flat fee or a percentage of the overdue amount, as specified in your Agreement).
Interest on overdue balances: Overdue balances may incur interest at the rate set out in your Hosting Agreement, applied from the date the payment became overdue until it is paid in full.
Our intention is not to penalize responsible clients, but to prevent chronic non-payment that impacts the entire facility.
If an account becomes seriously past due as defined in your Hosting Agreement:
Notice: We will attempt to notify you through the contact information on file (email and/or phone).
Suspension: If payment is still not made within the time frame described in your Agreement, we may suspend hosting services and power off your miners until the account is brought current.
Reconnection / reactivation:
A reconnection fee may be charged to cover the labor and operational effort required to safely bring your miners back online.
Reactivation typically occurs after all overdue balances, fees, and reconnection charges have been paid.
We prefer to keep your equipment hashing and earning, so if you anticipate payment issues, contact us early to discuss.
Even when a machine is not actively hashing, it still takes up secure, climate-controlled space and operational oversight.
In the following situations, storage fees may apply:
Your machines are at our facility but are:
Powered off due to non-payment, or
Awaiting deployment for an extended period due to client-side delays, or
Held while you decide whether to relocate, sell, or otherwise dispose of them.
How storage is billed:
Storage may accrue per unit, per rack position, or per kW-equivalent, as outlined in your Hosting Agreement.
Rax Mining may issue storage and penalty invoices within up to 90 days from the date storage or penalty charges were incurred.
Storage fees remain your responsibility until:
The balance is paid and units are reactivated, or
The units are removed from our facility, or
Another resolution is reached in accordance with your Hosting Agreement.
From time to time, miners need repair, diagnostics, or relocation. The following additional fees may apply:
Diagnostic / handling fee: For removing, inspecting, labeling, testing, and re-racking units.
Shipping & logistics: Costs associated with packaging, palletizing, and shipping miners to a third-party repair facility or new hosting site.
Return & reinstallation: Labor to receive, check-in, and reinstall repaired units.
Priority / emergency work: If you request expedited or after-hours work, premium rates may apply if available.
Where possible, these charges are quoted in advance or documented in a work order for your approval.
Good-faith resolution: If you believe there is a billing error, contact us promptly. We aim to resolve good-faith disputes through documentation, meter data, and open communication.
Chargebacks: Unauthorized or bad-faith chargebacks may result in additional administrative fees and immediate service suspension.
Collections: Accounts that remain seriously delinquent may be referred to collections or legal counsel as permitted in your Hosting Agreement and applicable law.
Racks, power, and space are finite. When a client stops communicating and stops paying, equipment can become “abandoned.”
Subject to the specific terms of your Hosting Agreement and applicable law:
If your account remains unpaid for an extended period and you fail to respond to repeated contact attempts, your equipment may be treated as abandoned.
Rax Mining may take action as permitted under your Agreement, which can include:
Assessing continued storage and related fees, and/or
Liquidating or otherwise disposing of equipment to offset outstanding balances, after any required notices.
Our preference is always to resolve matters collaboratively before they ever reach this stage.
These are examples only. Actual numbers and timelines are governed by your Hosting Agreement.
Example 1: Late payment
Monthly hosting invoice: $2,000
Payment is 20 days late beyond grace period
Late fee and any applicable interest are added to your next invoice as per your Agreement.
Example 2: Non-payment & suspension
Account becomes significantly past due.
Miners are powered off and stored safely in our facility.
Storage fees begin accruing under your Agreement until the account is brought current or the units are removed.
We built Rax Mining to be a long-term partner, not a “black box” host.
We invest in metering so you only pay for power you actually use.
We communicate in writing whenever practical so there is a clear record.
We apply fees and penalties to protect the facility and honest clients, not to nickel-and-dime your operation.
If you are ever unsure about a fee on your invoice, email or call us. We will walk you through it and provide supporting details wherever available.
If you have questions about any of these policies or how they apply to your specific account, contact:
